Abstract
The failure of physician to diagnose breast cancer is devastating for both the patient and physician because patients perceive any delay in the diagnosis of breast cancer as decreasing their chance for survival. One way to improve the success
rate
of
dignosing breast cancer earlier is to review previous diagnostic failures and to learn from them. For this reason, the study of cases of cases of breast cancer misdiagnosis can provide clinical information of great educational value to
clinicians.
A review was undertaken of 9 cases from Jan. 1993 through Sep. 1995 that involved misdiagnosis related to breast cancer. The cases were analyzed as an instructional tool for physicians.
